Website Project for Olark-Skincare

How I helped Olark Skin Care build a fresh, easy-to-use website with simplified messaging.

After a terrible experience with another developer, I was nervous to try again. But Destiny was different—he listened, explained everything clearly, and delivered a site that feels like mine. It looks better, works better, and I’m finally proud to share it with customers.

 Olark Skin Care – Dr. Alagun (Texas, USA 🇺🇸)

Before working with me, Dr Alagun was frustrated with a website that didn’t meet her expectations.

Olark Skin Care is a U.S.-based skincare brand owned by a medical expert specializing in skin health. They sell creams, soaps, and other products focused on mature skin concerns like wrinkles and hyperpigmentation.

Unfortunately their former website didnt meet their expectations. It failed to represent the brand properly and wasn’t clear or engaging enough for their core audience — mainly older women looking for trustworthy skin solutions.

STEP 1

Discovery & Research

I kicked off with a discovery call to understand the brand’s vision and what they wanted from the website.

One major problem was how the brand’s message wasn’t connecting well with mature women — the main customers. To fix this, I did deep research on the U.S. skincare market and the specific concerns of this audience. This helped me discover the right language, pain points, and emotional triggers to use in the copy.

STEP 2 

Copywriting and Messaging

Using my research, I crafted clear, down-to-earth copy that speaks directly to women dealing with skin issues like wrinkles and dark spots.

I helped the brand realign its messaging to be more relevant, empathetic, and trustworthy, making visitors feel understood from the moment they land on the site.

STEP 3

Design, Development & Functionality

Super Easy Navigation

I built the website for super easy navigation on both mobile and desktop, so users can move around the site smoothly and find what they need fast.

One key feature was a “Shop by Concern” and “Take a Your” section, letting visitors find products based on their specific skin problems and tour the easily. This removes guesswork and helps customers quickly get what’s right for them.

Footer Navigation Bar & Search Pop-Up

A fixed footer bar gives quick access to Shop, Search, Cart, and Help without scrolling back up. Plus, a pop-up search feature shows instantly when tapped, helping visitors find products fast without interruptions.

Wishlist & Sharing

Customers can save favorite products in a wishlist to buy later, and share product links easily with friends or family — making shopping smoother and helping the brand grow through word of mouth.

Clear Calls to Action

I placed straightforward and strategic CTA buttons like “Start Shopping,” “View All Products,” “Get Solutions Here,” and “Book Free Consultation” throughout the site. This helps visitors know exactly what to do next, keeping the flow smooth and increasing conversions.

Shop by Category & Latest Arrivals

I added a “Shop by Category” section to separate skincare and haircare products, so visitors can jump straight to what matters to them. I also created a Latest Arrivals block to highlight new products and keep the site feeling fresh.

Building Trust with Messaging

Clear headers like “Anti Aging Essentials” with simple descriptions help explain how products address wrinkles, dullness, or age spots — making it easy for customers to understand the benefits.

Payments and Shipping

I integrated Stripe for fast, secure payments, and USPS for reliable shipping with real-time tracking — giving customers confidence from purchase to delivery.

User Login and Registration

For returning customers, I set up easy login and registration to save order history and speed up checkout, adding a personal touch and making the site feel like home.

Optimization for Mobile & Desktop

Understanding that many customers shop on their phones, I made sure the website is fully optimized for both mobile and desktop. The layout is clean and easy to use, with fast loading times that keep shoppers engaged and ready to check out without any hassle.
