Overview

A food business operating across multiple states needed better visibility into where orders were coming from and which locations were generating the most revenue.

While WooCommerce provides standard reporting tools, the business could not easily view sales performance by state, identify top-performing locations, or track regional buying patterns without manually reviewing large amounts of order data.

To solve this, a custom Sales By State Dashboard was developed directly inside the WooCommerce admin area.

The Problem

The business needed answers to questions that WooCommerce reporting did not provide clearly:

  • Which states generate the most revenue?
  • Which locations place the highest number of orders?
  • What products sell best in specific regions?
  • How are sales trends changing across different states?

Accessing this information required manually reviewing orders, exporting data, or piecing together reports from multiple sources.

As order volume increased, this became inefficient and time-consuming.

The Solution

A custom reporting dashboard was built directly inside WooCommerce to provide location-based sales insights using customer order data.

The dashboard allows administrators to:

  • View revenue by state
  • Track order volume by location
  • Identify top-performing regions
  • Monitor state-level sales trends
  • View top-selling products by state
  • Search and filter performance data quickly

The reporting system works alongside WooCommerce’s existing analytics tools while providing deeper visibility into regional sales activity.

Outcome

The dashboard removed the need for manual location-based reporting and gave the business faster access to sales data that was previously difficult to obtain.

The system provided clearer visibility into regional performance, helped identify high-performing locations, and made sales reporting more useful for operational decision-making.

It later became the foundation for a standalone WooCommerce reporting solution.
