Project Overview

Olark Skincare is a skincare brand that sells natural, botanical-based products designed to address common skin concerns such as hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, cracked heels, and dandruff.

The project involved rebuilding the brand’s ecommerce experience after the client became dissatisfied with a previously developed website.

The goal was to create a cleaner shopping experience where customers could easily find products based on their skincare concerns, place orders confidently, and manage purchases through a reliable ecommerce platform.

Alongside the ecommerce setup, the project also involved product organization, shipping configuration, payment processing, email notifications, website migration, and post-launch support.

The Challenge

Rather than treating the website like a simple product catalogue, the focus was placed on helping customers move from a skincare problem to the right product as quickly as possible.

The website structure was organized around the actual problems customers were trying to solve, including:

USPS Shipping Configuration

Shipping options were configured using USPS services.

After reviewing the available shipping methods with the client, unnecessary options were removed and the checkout experience was simplified to display only the preferred shipping method requested by the business.

This reduced confusion during checkout and created a cleaner purchasing experience for customers.

Stripe Payment Processing

Online payment processing was configured to allow customers to complete purchases securely through the website.

The payment setup was integrated directly into the WooCommerce checkout flow, creating a smoother purchasing experience from product selection to order confirmation.

Domain Migration & Launch Support

The website launch involved transferring the domain from a previous hosting environment and connecting it to the new hosting setup.

This required resolving domain ownership conflicts, updating hosting configuration, and managing DNS propagation after launch.

The migration was completed successfully and the new website was launched on the client’s domain.

Outcome

The project delivered a more structured ecommerce platform for the brand.

Customers can now browse products more easily, place orders online, receive accurate shipping options, and complete purchases through a streamlined checkout experience.
